- Entry Requirements:
This course is suitable for those with Highers, or who have completed the Higher syllabus or have successfully completed a non-advanced College course such as Business at Intermediate 2. Qualifications in English and/or communication are desirable. For those returning to education, life skills and experience in the workplace may allow entry, subject to availability.
- Description:
The HND Legal Services programme is intended as a paralegal qualification.
- Who is the Course for?
This course is aimed at students who would like to gain the relevant competences in aspects of law and legal procedures to progress either directly to a career in a legal or business environment as a paralegal or to a university degree course. Students achieving the HND will also be eligible for four Professional Development Awards approved by the Scottish Paralegal Association and the Law Society of Scotland.
- How will I be Assessed?
This course is mainly assessed on a continuous basis and internal assessment will be carried out by lecturers involved in the courses, following guidelines laid down by SQA and monitored by moderation groups. Assessment may take various forms to meet the differing requirements and will be explained to classes by the lecturer at the beginning of each new unit.

Gary comes originally from Glasgow but moved up to the North-east 12 years ago with his family, first to Peterhead before finally settling in Aberdeen. When he left school he opted for an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering but when he was made redundant a number of years later, he decided to go back to further his education.
