- Course Structure:
Human Resource Management views people as a key organisational resource. It is concerned with developing structures and systems which promote the effective management of people, and working closely with the various departments of organisations to build, maintain and develop the workforce.
The course explores the theoretical and practical aspects of Human Resource Management, with an emphasis on the vital contribution to business success made by the people in an organisation.
In addition to the underpinning management subjects, the course covers modules in Contemporary Human Resource Management, Organisational Behaviour, People Management, Management of Change, Employee Relations and Reward, Employee Resourcing and Development, Employment Law, and Leadership.
You will also develop knowledge and competence in areas such as communication, IT, teamwork, handling of information and critical analysis, which employers identify as being essential for a business professional.
The optional, salaried work placement in year 3 brings a sense of realism and dynamism to your course and is highly regarded by employers as preparation for employment.
- Placement:
An optional salaried work placement is available in year 3. International placements are available in all management courses.
In year 2 or 3, there are opportunities to study with partner institutions in Europe as part of the Erasmus Programme. Students will be taught and assessed in English and also receive foreign language tuition.
- Career Opportunities:
This course equips graduates for a human resource management or managerial career in industry or the public sector. Specialised careers include Recruitment Consultant, Employee Relations
