  • Course Structure:

    Management is the art of planning, coordinating, directing and controlling business activities efficiently and effectively.

    This course has been designed to enable you to operate successfully in the global business environment. It will equip you with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the nature and context of business, the principal management functions and the skills required for effective management in different organisations.

    In addition to studying a range of core management subjects, the flexibility of the course allows you to tailor it towards your own interests and career aspirations by choosing from a wide selection of management-related modules covering a comprehensive range of specialist subjects.

    The course explores the theoretical and practical aspects of management, focusing on Management Concepts, Business Enterprise Skills and Business Policy. Further modules undertaken on the course include Organisational Behaviour, Marketing, Law, Finance, and Economics.

    Studying Management at RGU, you will develop competence in key professional skills such as communication, information technology, project and time management, research, teamwork, the handling of information and critical analysis; the skills which employers identify as being essential for a business professional.

    The optional, salaried work placement in year 3 brings a sense of realism and dynamism to your course and is highly regarded by employers as preparation for employment.      

  • Placement:

    An optional salaried work placement is available in year 3. International placements are available in all management courses.

    In year 2 or 3, there are opportunities to study with partner institutions in Europe as part of the Erasmus Programme. Students will be taught and assessed in English and also receive foreign language tuition.

  • Career Opportunities:

    This broad based course equips graduates for a managerial career in commerce, industry or the public sector. The subjects chosen as option modules can widen opportunities for more specialist managerial positions
