Sports Students Fit In Activities To Raise Money

Sports students from ABERDEEN COLLEGE have organised a number of events to keep staff, students and school pupils on their toes and bursting with energy for the start of the New Year and to help raise cash for worthwhile causes.
Cycling for Heroes
Students and staff of ABERDEEN COLLEGE are taking part in a two wheel fundraising event to raise money to support wounded servicemen and women.
Girls prove that they are an ASSET
A group of students have arranged a training week for girls interested in football. They will be delivering coaching sessions in schools throughout the week commencing Monday 1st February. At the end of the week, a tournament will take place at Aberdeen's Sports Village which is being sponsored by Aberdeen ASSET Management.
Schools line-up to walk a mile
Another group of students have decided to organise a fundraising event for CLIC Sargent, the UK's leading children's charity who support children and young people with cancer.
The students are working alongside Active Schools Co-ordinator Graeme Dale who has encouraged the students to work with primary schools in the Bridge of Don area. Schools taking part include: Breahead, Scotstown, Danestone, Glashieburn, Greenbrae and Middleton Park.
Aberdeen primary schools in cup final at Strikers
Eight Aberdeen primary schools from the Bridge of Don area will be competing in the Aberdeen Cup Tournament at Strikers Indoor Football on Tuesday 19th January 2010.
The event, which ABERDEEN COLLEGE HND Sports Coaching with Development of Sport students are helping to organise as part of their course, has attracted sponsorship from Strikers, Shell, Sangs, Henderson and Dick Designs and Aberdeen Football Club.
Students get pupils active in Laurencekirk
ABERDEEN COLLEGE Students have organised an activity week of games and sports to show pupils of Laurencekirk Primary School why keeping fit and having a healthy lifestyle is important.
