Now in session: Aberdeen College on iTunes U

ABERDEEN COLLEGE has become the first FE college in the UK to launch its own iTunes U site, enabling students and other users to download and access College information and resources 'on the go'. The College joins an elite band of UK universities that include Oxford, Cambridge and University College London, on Apple's expansion of iTunes aimed at the education sector.

Visitors to the iTunes U site will be able to download student music recordings and artwork, find out more about the College and the courses on offer, hear about student life, and obtain general information on ABERDEEN COLLEGE. In publishing materials via Apple's iTunes U service podcasts can be watched or listened to online, or downloaded to a range of mobile devices including mp3 players and mobile phones.

Rob Wallen, Principal of ABERDEEN COLLEGE welcomed the launch stating; "ABERDEEN COLLEGE is determined to be at the forefront in the use of new technologies to support and enrich learning. iTunes U provides us with a flexible medium to make our services and our students' work more widely accessible, and we are delighted to have been able to develop this new facility."

ABERDEEN COLLEGE will continue to develop the technology to incorporate existing educational content including lectures, tutorials and guest lectures. Staff and students at ABERDEEN COLLEGE are already using new technologies, including podcasting, to share information on their work and studies through the site.

ABERDEEN COLLEGE on iTunes U not only improves provision of information available, it broadens the college's reach to new audiences throughout the world. The site will help to expand access to learning and teaching innovations and allow students to publish work to a potentially global community.
